El
Palmeral is set on Fuerteventura, with its world-famous beaches
formed from sand blown over from the Sahara. The sheltered sandy
beach of Caleta de Fuste is within easy walking distance of the
resort, and the El Castillo fortress and a harbour and marina with
an abundance of water sports are also just a gentle stroll away.
The beach, restaurants, bars and shops are all close at hand.
The second-largest
island in the Canaries after Tenerife, Fuerteventura is quite different
in character to the others, with its eroded, gentle mountains and
its endless miles of broad natural beaches of golden sand, often
backed by magnificent dunes, contrasting with the sharp volcanic
spires and man-made or volcanic black-sand beaches prevalent elsewhere
in the archipelago. Its arid interior landscape preserves a rare
charm and peace, while the nightlife in its coastal resorts is as
lively as would be expected from such a popular holiday destination.
One thing it does have in common with the other islands is wonderful
weather, with an annual aggregate of over three thousand hours of
sunshine.
The
resort has a children's pool and swimming pool. All units are ground
floor and the resort is friendly to people with walking difficulties,
as most levels have ramps.
One- and two-bedroom apartments are available,
all with full kitchens, satellite TV and CD hi-fi players.
Reception is open 24 hours.
