Q:
What is the difference between "fixed time" and "floating
time" timeshare, and which do I have?
A: With "fixed time" timeshare, your membership relates
to a specific apartment during a specific weekly period at specific
resort - for example, Club Imaginary, Apartment 505, week 25. You
visit that specific apartment during the same weekly period ever
year, or deposit that week into the RCI Spacebank® if you wish
to exchange elsewhere.
With "floating time" timeshare, your membership relates
to a type of apartment and a season at a specific resort - for example,
Club Imaginary, two-bedroom apartment, red (high) season week. You
make a booking through Nexus Leisure into any two-bedroom apartment
during the red (high) season, subject only to availability.
If you do not want to go to your home resort, you ask Nexus Leisure
to deposit a week for you into the RCI Spacebank® and then exchange
elsewhere through RCI.
Club Tenerife in Tenerife is a"fixed
time" timeshare club, while Club Tarahal in Tenerife is a "floating time" timeshare club.
Q:
What is Compass Club, and how does it differ from the other Nexus
resorts?
A: Compass Club is a floating time, multi-resort timeshare club.
Membership of Compass Club permits you to make a reservation through
Nexus Leisure in an apartment type and season commensurate with
your membership (just like floating time as above), but in one of the three Canary Islands resorts - Club Tarahal, Club Tenerife and Las Adelfas, without paying an exchange
fee.
If you do not want to go to one of these resorts, you ask Nexus
Leisure to deposit a week for you into the RCI Spacebank® and
then exchange elsewhere through RCI.
Q:
What is Compass Club Premier membership?
A: Compass Club Premier is an enhanced level of membership. Apart
from the four resorts referred t in the previous question, you can
request reservations in a wide range of other resorts around the
world with which Compass Club has made arrangements, without paying
an exchange fee.
Resort choices currently available include locations in Australia,
India, Indonesia, Mexico, Spain and Thailand.
If you do not want to go to one of these resorts, you ask Nexus
Leisure to deposit a week for you into the RCI Spacebank® and
then exchange elsewhere through RCI.
Q:
How far in advance can I deposit my floating time week with RCI,
or make a resort reservation?
A: You can make a booking as soon as your maintenance fees for the
year in question have been paid. Fees are normally set one year
in advance.

Q:
I am a Compass Club member and have a five-week bonus Holiday
Certificate how do I use it?
A: Valid for five years, your certificate entitles you to: (1) three
holiday weeks at Compass Club resorts, for a fee equivalent to the
annual Compass maintenance fee; and (2) two weeks to bank with RCI
at a cost of only £100 each (you only need to pay RCI's exchange
fee when you want to use those weeks).
Q:
Can friends and family use my apartment? Do I have to pay for a
guest certificate?
A: Reservation confirmations can only be issued to you as the registered
owner. However, once this has been done you can authorise anyone
else to use the apartment by providing them with the confirmation
and a short letter from yourself giving them permission to occupy
it. No fee is required. If travelling on an RCI exchange, however,
no one but yourself and those accompanying you can use the apartment
without an RCI guest certificate, for which a fee is charged.
